LCD Soundsystem have announced their first live shows in the UK since 2018.
The band will take up residency at London’s Brixton Academy this summer for a four-date run of gigs – on June 29, and July 1, 2 and 3 – that will see them mark the 20th anniversary of their first live shows in London. Tickets for all four of the shows will go on general sale this Friday (March 11) at 10am GMT. Find more information here.
In a post on LCD Soundsystem’s Facebook page that was shared earlier today (March 7), James Murphy said of the band’s anniversary: "It’s horrifyingly going to be 20 years this year of us being a performing rock group. I mean, the Losing My Edge / Beat Connection 12-inch came out in the summer of 2002, and then we played our first show [on] November 19 of that year. It was in London, at Arthur Baker and Sean McLusky’s Return To New York party at the Great Eastern Hotel. So we’re kind of celebrating, albeit in a more low key way."
