Laurent Garnier Unveils First Solo Album Since 2015

The much-loved French DJ has also announced that he'll be taking a step back from touring from late 2024 onwards

Laurent Garnier has a new album on the way.

The French DJ and producer’s first solo full-length record since 2015’s La Home Box, the 10-track 33 Tours Et Puis S’en Vont will be released through his own COD3 QR label. Drawing on techno, drum & bass, hip hop and punk, the album features a guest vocal turn by the late Alan Vega of Suicide, who appears on the cut ‘Saturn Drive Triplex’.

"This new album is the culmination of two years living in an era of doubt and uncertainty," Garnier said in a statement. "But more than just an audit, it’s a return to my roots, a tribute to the dance floor and to techno music, in all its forms."

In addition to announcing 33 Tours Et Puis S’en Vont, Garnier has also revealed that he plans to take a step back from touring at the end of 2024. In a statement, he said he was making this decision, as he approaches his sixties, because "becoming a dusty, old jukebox has never an option."

He continued: "Although I might start visiting some countries, cities and festivals for the very last time sometime soon, I would like to make things clear: I will remain a DJ for the rest of my life, because being a DJ is, above all, a visceral need for me to share the music I love, no matter what, in one way or another."

COD3 QR will release 33 Tours Et Puis S’en Vont on May 25, 2023.
