After his odd but brilliant remix of Panda Bear earlier this year, London’s dilapidated beatsmith Actress has returned to remix a track from Laurel Halo’s excellent Hour Logic EP, recently released on Hippos In Tanks. It’s a pretty inspired pairing, if we’re honest – both producers borrow heavily from every era of dance music to make something that you’d struggle to dance to without growing an extra limb or two. Despite that, the Violet Remix of ‘Constant Index’ is one of the more straightforward things Actress has done for a while, at least as far as his music’s concerned. It’s hot and humid, and works as a nice little side order to Halo’s recent new material.
