Latvian festival Skaņu Mežs has revealed the full lineup for its 22nd edition, which takes place next month.
The programming is split across two days at Riga’s Hanzas Perons concert hall, and is headlined by Armand Hammer (the hip hop duo of Billy Woods and ELUCID) and the previously announced Autechre. There will also be high-profile sets from The Body & Dis Fig and Fred Frith, who will present a special solo performance celebrating the 50th anniversary of his album Guitar Solos.
Skaņu Mežs is part of the network of festivals involved in SHAPE+, the European Union-funded platform for innovative music and audiovisual art, and the 2024/25 roster will this year be represented by Polish bass music producer 2K88. The lineup is rounded out by Charmaine Lee, Deli Girls, Vomir, and Jennifer Walshe & Neil Luck, among others.
The festival is also soon set to announce a free-entry workshop programme encompassing seven activities at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music and the Art Academy of Latvia.
Skaņu Mežs will take place from October 4 to 5, 2024. Find more information here.
