Latvian Festival Skaņu Mežs Reveals Lineup For 2023 Edition

Amnesia Scanner will headline the event, which returns next month for its 21st edition

Riga festival Skaņu Mežs has shared the full lineup for its 2023 edition, taking place in October.

Returning for its 21st edition, the festival will take in a headline set from Amnesia Scanner, while there are also appearances confirmed from Phew, Coby Sey, Daniel Blumberg, Debit, Evita Manji, Gnaw Their Tongues and Violent Magic Orchestra, among others.

Skaņu Mežs is one of a number of European festivals taking part in the EU-supported platform for experimental and new music, SHAPE+. The project’s music programme will take in sets from Maya Shenfield with video artist Pedro Maia; Danish artist Hvad; Horse Lords member Max Eilbacher, performing here as The Vex Collection; and local acts Flowerpower, KODEK and TV Maskava. It will also feature a showcase by the grime label South London Space Agency.

In July, SHAPE+ shared its full roster of participating artists for 2023 and 2024. The project has linked up with Ukraine’s Construction festival, Berlin’s CTM and Brussels’ Schiev for showcases already in 2023.

Skaņu Mežs will take place from September 30 to October 8, 2023. Find more information here.
