Documentary captures the band's time in the secretive state last year; check out a trailer below

LIBERATION DAY _ trailer from VFS FILMS on Vimeo.

In August of last year, Laibach became the “first foreign rock group ever” to perform in North Korea. The performances coincide with the 70th anniversary of Liberation Day, which marked the end of Japanese colonial rule. Laibach’s time in the country was captured for a documentary and it will be premiered later this month.

A film crew was given unprecedented access to follow the band in the country as well as during the process of setting up the concert. Liberation Day will premiere at the 2016 International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam during its opening weekend at Melkweg in Amsterdam on November 19. It will be followed by a live show from Laibach.

General tickets are on sale for the screening and show here and you can check out a trailer for the film above.
