Laibach have shared a new track lifted from their upcoming album, Also Sprach Zarathustra. You can listen to the track, titled ‘Das Nachtlied I’ above.
The track and the music featured on the rest of the album was originally composed for a theatrical production of Thus Spoke Zarathustra, based on Friedrich Nietzsche’s philosophical novel of the same name. The production was directed by Matjaž Berger for the Anton Podbevšek Theatre (APT) in Novo Mesto, Slovenia.
The band will tour Also Sprach Zarathustra across Europe later this year kicking off in Budapest on November 4 and coming to London on November 23. Meanwhile, the band’s infamous North Korean tour (which took in two dates in the country in 2015) has been documented in Liberation Day, a film directed by Morten Traavik, and is currently being screened at film festivals worldwide.
