Following a particularly strong release in Kuedo’s Assertion Of A Surrouding Presence back in July, Kuedo and Joe Shakespeare’s Knives imprint has announced its third release in the form of a 12” EP from producers d’Eon. You can hear preview clips here.
Entitled Foxconn/Trios it is made up of unreleased music originally recorded in 2012 during their involvement in the Hippos In Tanks label. Comprising nine tracks, it’s closest comparisons are namechecked as “the audio-materialist studies of Mark Fell, post-Oversteps Autechre, late period OPN, or Lorenzo Senni.”
d’Eon explains the EP and its production as follows: “The track comprising the record freely and irregularly travel both forward and backward in MIDI-time. By putting together small arrangements using low sample-rate soundfonts in a tracker, and by writing short loops that are legible both forwards and backwards, the MIDI information can be traversed in any arbitrary direction at any arbitrary intervals and still be harmonically and contrapuntally sound.” The EP is out on November 27.
