Krautrock Legend Offers Thumbs Up To Engineers

Michael Rother approves of London gloom rockers

Krautrock legend Michael Rother has given his approval to Quietus favourites Engineers after they used a sample from one his songs.

Rother, who was a member of Neu!, Harmonia and Kraftwerk, gave their comments after Engineers used a sample from the Harmonia song ‘Watussi’ for their track ‘Clean Coloured Wire’ from the new album Three Fact Fader.

He said: "“I really think that’s a wonderful piece of music. I get goose bumps when I hear the vocals – it’s amazing, it’s very beautiful.”

It’s beautiful to hear results of that kind – it gives me a good feeling for my own music.”

COMING SOON: The Quietus will have a special interview with Engineer early next week to celebrate the long-awaited release of their new record.
