Kode9 To Remix Video Game Music

Hyperdub's next release will see label boss Kode9 rework classic video game tracks

Kode9 has remixed four pieces of Japanese video game music for a new release on Hyperdub. Above, you can hear one of the remixes, of ‘Bad Data’ by Koichi Ishibashi (which featured in the game Dezaemon).

The release follows on from 2017’s Diggin’ In The Carts, which saw Kode9 and video game music expert Nick Dwyer compile a number of classic pieces of Japanese video game music dating back to the ’80s and ’90s for release on Hyperdub.

Since then, Kode9 has been touring a live audiovisual show in support of the release alongside visual artist Koji Morimoto, which has seen him rework tracks from the compilation. Four of those remixes feature on Diggin’ In The Carts Remixes, which Hyperdub will release digitally and on vinyl on May 3.
