King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Announce New Album

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard's next album is due next month

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have announced a new album, titled Fishing For Fishies.

The album will be released via the group’s own Flightless Records as is the case with their past records, and spans nine tracks. You can watch a video for the album’s title track, which opens the record, above. It follows on from recent track ‘Cyboogie’ which also features on the album and was released in January.

Fishing For Fishies is the group’s 14th album since their debut in 2012 and their first since releasing five LPs in one year in 2017.

"We tried to make a blues record," says frontman Stu Mackenzie. "A blues-boogie-shuffle-kinda-thing, but the songs kept fighting it – or maybe it was us fighting them. Ultimately though we let the songs guide us this time; we let them have their own personalities and forge their own path. Paths of light, paths of darkness. This is a collection of songs that went on wild journeys of transformation."

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard will release Fishing For Fishies on April 26, and will tour the UK in support of the album’s release through October. Find a full list of upcoming tour dates here.
