Kelela To Release Remix Album

Kaytranada, Príncipe affiliate Nídia and more will feature on a remix album for Kelela's Take Me Apart

Kelela will next month mark the year-anniversary of her debut album Take Me Apart with the release of a remix album.

TAKE ME A_PART, THE REMIXES has been compiled by Kelela herself alongside Nguzunguzu member Asma Maroof. It features reworks of tracks from Kelela’s album by the likes of Kaytranada, Príncipe’s Nídia, serpentwithfeet, DJ LAG, LSDXOXO and others.

"It’s not just a bunch of remixes," Kelela says of the release. "It’s how my worldwide community of producers and DJs communicate through difference. It’s also about the camaraderie that we experience when we find the overlaps. The same songs get to exist in these alternate realities which means different people get to have a relationship with the music. Maybe even with each other."

You can listen to a remix of single ‘LMK’, featuring Princess Nokia, Junglepussy, Cupcakke and Ms. Boogie, above. TAKE ME A_PART, THE REMIXES is out on October 5.
