Karin Park Details New Album, ‘Private Collection’

"This record is very much a journey in solitude that I've been longing to make," she says of her seventh studio record

Karin Park has a new album on the way.

Spanning 10 tracks, Private Collection takes in a number of re-recordings of tracks from Park’s back catalogue – with "radically different instrumentation," according to press materials – as well as a newly written track, ‘Traces Of Me’, which opens the album. The record, which is Park’s seventh studio effort, features contributions from Årabrot’s Kjetil Nernes (guitar), Nurse With Wound’s Andrew Liles (synths), and Benedetta Simeone (cello). You can watch a live video version of lead track ‘Opium’ above.

"This record is very much a journey in solitude that I’ve been longing to make," Park said in a statement about her new album. "These are my favourite songs from 20 years of writing, re-recorded as I hear them now. Many of these versions are how I play them live, alone with my synths, mellotron and organ."

Pelagic will release Private Collection on October 7, 2022.
