This summer, Berlin-born and London-based artist and curator Leo Liccini presents Ariel 2.0 in Peckham, promising to bring us a host of interesting and varied speech and spoken word performances from a range of artists.
The series kicks off on Friday (July 17) with Cakes Da Killa, and over the course of the coming summer months, Ariel 2.0 will treat us to performances from the likes of Karen Gwyer on August 14 and Felicita on September 23. This performance series brings to London an international selection of artists. From singing to the spoken word, voice sampling and rap, Ariel 2.0 will seek to take these performances out of their normal context, placing them within the Bold Tendencies car park auditorium space on Rye Lane in Peckham. The aim in doing so is to reflect the impact of a world guided by computers and online life, embracing the effect this has on the performance of speech.
