Kangding Ray has launched a new label called ara.
The DJ and producer will serve as curator for the label which is described as a "platform for recording artists with unique sonic identities that seek to induce deep emotion." Its sound is rooted in club music, but will not follow a strict path.
The label boss kickstarts the new imprint with a four-track EP called Predawn Qualia, which will be released digitally and on vinyl on May 17. Lifted from it, you can hear the title track above.
Further releases through 2019 are promised on the label from Adiel, Hydrangea, Refracted and Voiski. Kangding Ray will play alongside Sigha as Neon Chambers at this summer’s Dekmantel festival in Amsterdam.
