Kali Malone has reissued her 2019 album The Sacrificial Code.
Out on Stephen O’Malley’s Ideologic Organ label, the updated release of the LP takes in a new arrangement of the titular composition, which Malone recorded in 2023 using the 16th-century meantone organ at Malmö Konstmuseum. The physical release, which is due out on April 11, also takes in archival organ photography by Malone.
Originally released in 2019, Malone devised The Sacrificial Code while finishing a master’s thesis in electroacoustic composition at The Royal Collage of Museum in Stockholm. Its production was influenced by an apprenticeship with the organ tuner Jan Börjeson, which saw Malone explore the instrument’s history and sound further.
