Since its debut release in 2014, Beneath’s Mistry label has been exploring murky, bass-driven club music as rooted in UK abstractions of techno as it is in testing sound systems.
Following on from 12" releases from producers such as Laksa and Batu, the first album release on Mistry will arrive next month in the form of a debut for UK producer Kailin. From the album, which is called Fracture, you can check out ‘Circling’ above.
The album sees the label moving away from traditional club fare, the producer experimenting with much of the sound palette that has made up past releases, but pushing at the edges. ‘Circling’ is rooted around thumps of sub-bass and shifting beat patterns that sit underneath spacey synths that are eerie yet somewhat funky. The record is set for release on March 10.
