JPEGMAFIA Cancels Appearance At Amazon-Backed Festival

The Black Madonna previously pulled out of next month's Intersect claiming that Amazon's involvement had not been made clear

US rapper JPEGMAFIA has pulled out of the debut edition of Intersect, the upcoming Las Vegas music festival produced by Amazon Web Services.

The rapper and his team have made no comment on his removal from the bill. It follows on from The Black Madonna’s decision to cancel her appearance at the festival, which takes place from December 6-7, after claiming that Amazon Web Services’ involvement in the event had not been made clear to her or her team in any contracts or discussions.

A spokesperson at the time responded to The Black Madonna’s claims saying: "Our affiliation of the Intersect Festival is clear in the contract that was signed by Black Madonna’s management team. ‘Amazon Web Services’ was named in the contract five separate times, and throughout creative materials that were reviewed and approved."

Beck, Foo Fighters, SOPHIE, Jamie xx and lots more are still listed as appearing at next month’s festival.

A number of artists, including The Black Madonna, recently signed a pledged to boycott Amazon events in the wake of its confirmed involvement in putting on Intersect.
