Joy Orbison Releases New Track, ‘2M3 2U’

The UK producer describes the cut as "a bit of a UK take on hyperpop"

Joy Orbison has released his second standalone single of 2022, a club-focused cut called ‘2M3 2U’.

Following the release earlier this year of the song ‘pinky ring’, the new track is described by the UK producer, real name Peter O’Grady, as "a bit of a UK take on hyperpop, but with a bit of bass weight." In a statement, he added: "The vocal part could be a sample of some garbled message of love in Blade Runner or The Fifth Element, and the main riffs had me thinking about the DJ Narrows records we’d play at youth club parties. Interesting top lines seem to be a bit absent in my world these days and I’ve definitely been influenced by contemporary drum & bass and [its] endless search for the catchiest wobble."

‘2M3 2U’ is out now on XL.
