Chromatics’ Johnny Jewel To Release Solo Album

The album features music from the upcoming series of Twin Peaks

After the update last night that Chromatics’ long-delayed new record Dear Tommy is nearing release, it has now been revealed that the group’s Johnny Jewel will release a new solo album, entitled Windswept, next week. You can check out the video for the title track, made by Chromatics, above.

The album will be released via Italians Do It Better, the label that Jewel runs, and features music that will be included in the upcoming new series of Twin Peaks which returns to TV screens on May 21. The album is out on May 10.

The announcement comes after the revelation yesterday that Chromatics’ Dear Tommy album, originally announced in December 2014, had been delayed due to a near-death experience Jewel had in Hawaii on Christmas Day in 2015. After the experience, he destroyed all of the completed copies of the record and started working on the album again soon after. Dear Tommy is now close to seeing release and music from it will also feature in the upcoming series of Twin Peaks, as per tweets by Alexis Rivera, head of Echo Park Records. You can find out more about that here.
