WATCH: New John Foxx & Jori Hulkkonen

Exclusive look at the video for Evangeline from the European Splendour EP

We’ve previously reported that new wave pioneer John Foxx and prolific house producer Jori Hilkkonen have collaborated on an EP, European Splendour, that’s out on Sugarcane Recordings in just under a fortnight, on August 19. As such, we’re excited to be able to give the video for ‘Evangeline’ from the record a first spin – have a watch above.

It’s a misted, seething track, which runs for just shy of a minute before being pervaded by a hefty, tremolo rhythm and narcotic synths, a fading, slightly sinister sexuality coursing through the track. Gabriel Pulecio and Lorena Kraus’ video hooks into this sense, panning across lurid, fluorescent smokes and liquids under the flashing glare of distant dancefloor lights.

On the EP, the track also gets a remix by David Lynch, alongside three other new cuts by Foxx and Hulkkonen – head to Sugarcane to pre-order the album.
