Jeremy Corbyn Will Be At Glastonbury

The Labour leader will be introduced on the Pyramid Stage by Michael Eavis before Run The Jewels' set

Jeremy Corbyn will appear on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage next weekend, The Guardian reports.

The Labour leader, buoyed by a surge of public support in last week’s General Election, will be led on to the stage by Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis before Run The Jewels’ Saturday afternoon set.

Corbyn will introduce the American hip-hop duo, who publicly voiced their support for him at their headline set on tQ’s Field Day stage earlier this month, and is sure to see a rapturous reception himself.

Eavis told The Guardian: "We’re Corbyn fans, that’s the thing. He’s got something new and precious, and people are excited about it. He really is the hero of the hour."

Corbyn was due to appear at last year’s Glastonbury, but cancelled his scheduled talk owing to the result of the Brexit referendum.

Other political figures to appear at Glastonbury include shadow chancellor John McDonnell, and former Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis.
