Last week, we heard that tQ favourite Jenny Hval was putting out her next album, Apocalypse, girl, on her new label Sacred Bones on June 8. Now, we’ve been given a full play of the record’s first single, ‘That Battle Is Over’, where organ lines and a loose drum loop provide a sound bed for Hval to posit: "Statistics and newspapers tell me I am unhappy and dying, that I need man and child to fulfil me…" As well as the track itself, we’ve also heard the fine news that Hval’s bound for these shores not long after the album’s released, as part of a world tour that began in Canada this week.
