Jenny Hval Details New Album, ‘Classic Objects’

She's also unveiled a video for new song 'Year Of Love'

Jenny Hval’s first album for 4AD will be released this March.

Titled Classic Objects, the eight-track album is described in press materials as "Hval’s version of a pop album." Its announcement follows on from the release late last year of the track ‘Jupiter’, which appears on the album, and you can watch a video for another new cut from the record, ‘Year Of Love’, above.

The song is based on a true story of a proposal that happened in front of Hval while she was performing a few years ago. "For me, this experience was very troubling," Hval said in a statement about the track. "It confronted me with the fact that I am also married. What does that detail from my private life say about me as an artist? ‘Year Of Love’ asks, ‘Who am I as an artist? Do my private actions betray my work and voice?’"

4AD will release Classic Objects on March 11, 2022.
