Jenny Hval & Håvard Volden Team Up As Lost Girls

Jenny Hval and multi-instrumentalist Håvard Volden form new collaborative project as Lost Girls

Lost Girls is a new collaborative project from Jenny Hval and multi-instrumentalist Håvard Volden, with their debut EP, entitled Feeling, due out next month. You can watch a teaser for the project above.

Together as Lost Girls, they take their name from a 2006 graphic novel by Alan Moore and Melinda Gebbie. The project comes in the wake of frequent past collaborative projects between the pair, which have seen Volden play live with Hval a number of times.

"The way we both think of music is very free and open-minded, and not too stuck in a certain way of playing," Volden says of their work together. "And also I can’t write lyrics, and Jenny is just amazing at it."

Feeling follows on from the pair’s 2012 self-titled album as Nude. The new record, which is out on March 2 via Smalltown Supertown, is being labelled as a "12-inch in two parts".

"Håvard works relentlessly with playing and creating stuff when he is on his own, using his ever-changing set-up of instruments and tape machines. I’m lazy and more of a thinker," says Hval of their work together.

Volden originally wrote B-Side ‘Accept’ for his solo project four years ago, before adding Hval’s vocals in 2016. A-Side ‘Drive’, meanwhile, has been part of Hval’s live shows for a number of years.
