Jarvis Cocker Covers The Fall For Barbican Exhibition

He and his band also play a track by The Velvet Underground in the video which is a response to an exhibition about dancer and choreographer Michael Clark

Jarvis Cocker and his group JARV IS… have been filmed covering songs by The Fall and The Velvet Underground as part of a new exhibition about dancer and choreographer Michael Clark at London’s Barbican.

The set which you can watch above as filmed by Andy Hui, includes takes on The Fall’s ‘Big New Prinz’, The Velvet Underground’s ‘Venus In Furs’, Cocker’s own ‘Further Complications’, and ‘House Music All Night Long’, a track from the band’s July debut album, Beyond The Pale.

In a statement about the exhibition, Michael Clark: Cosmic Dancer, Cocker said: "Take a look for yourself. Walk around, and slowly it will start to dawn on you, as it did on me: Dance is the language of the human body. And nobody speaks it better than Michael Clark."

Michael Clark: Cosmic Dancer runs at the Barbican until January 3, 2021.
