WATCH: New Jane Weaver Album Teaser

She has also announced new UK tour dates for later in the year

Jane Weaver has shared a new album teaser featuring her in the studio talking about Modern Kosmology, which is set for release on May 19.

The video, which you can see above, features Weaver playing with a Roland synth string and Korg Poly Ensemble P, while also revealing parts of some of the album’s unheard tracks across its 10-minute runtime.

Weaver took full control of the album’s recording, opting to self-produce the album, taking influence from a number of lesser-known characters including spiritual muses such as abstract painter Hilma Af Klint and her pre-surrealist secret society. She also enlisted Can’s Malcolm Mooney as well as a cast of Mancunian drummers and guitarists to flesh out the album’s sound during the recording process. Weaver discusses the contributions of her guests in the video above.

The teaser video has been shared alongside the announcement of an extensive UK tour this October and November. Following a series of dates in May coinciding with the album’s release, Weaver returns on October 20 with a date at Ramgate Music Hall before shows in Brighton, Norwich, Folkestone, London, Nottingham, Oxford, Leeds, Stoke, Newcastle, Hebden Bridge, Glasgow and a pair of Irish dates in Belfast and Dublin which will wrap up the tour.

You can find her full list of tour dates here while you can pre-order Modern Kosmology here. Check out lead single ‘Slow Motion’ below.
