James Blake and Hudson Mohawke are currently involved in a very public dispute following the latter’s claim that music he worked on with the former exists but will never be released.
Blake refuted that claim over the weekend saying that he was "respectfully baffled". After Hudson Mohawke released email evidence to suggest that the two had been in contact regarding working together, Blake has now hit back saying "Thank goodness we’ve never worked together" and going one step further, suggesting he couldn’t trust Hud Mo if they did collaborate.
In the note posted last night, Blake acknowledges that he did receive demo ideas from the producer, but that they were ultimately rejected after he "listened to them and politely declined".
"“Two years later and you’re alluding to the idea we’ve collaborated to the point where you have something you can leak…? Leak what you have,” Blake said. “You’d just been leaking one of your own beats with no vocals or input from me." In the post which sparked the back-and-forth, Hud Mo had told of work with Blake and Frank Ocean that would likely never see the light of day. The dispute is ongoing as of this morning with Hud Mo claiming he will clear matters up after they were "blown way out of proportion"
