A documentary looking at the music of Jagari Chanda, lead singer of Zambian psych band WITCH has launched a crowdfunding campaign

Jagari Chanda was the lead singer of Zambian psych band WITCH, the most popular band in the country in the 1970s, but he and the rest of the band soon faded into poverty and obscurity amidst an ailing economy in Zambia.

This year though he is heading out on tour once again with his new music having been rediscovered by a new generation of people, and a new documentary called We Intend To Cause Havoc will look into the history of WITCH and Chanda’s story, from his early days as part of the band to the current renaissance that his career is enjoying. You can watch a trailer for the film above.

The team behind the film have launched a crowdfunding campaign in order to help see the movie get a release, with a number of special bonus gifts offered to those who contribute. The film has an intended release date of summer 2018, and you can find out more information here.
