Isis, the now-disbanded five-piece renowned for their hypnotic, largely instrumental and groove-driven metal, are set to release a posthumous compilation of rare and unreleased material from throughout their career. Entitled Temporal, it’s due to arrive via Mike Patton’s Ipecac label on 5th November, and gathers together never-released material, alternate and demo versions of album tracks, covers of tracks by the likes of Black Sabbath and Godflesh, and a DVD of music videos. For full tracklist, see below.
The band split in 2010, although all their members are still active in other projects. Guitarist/singer Aaron Turner recently announced the sad closure of his long-running and well-respected Hydra Head label, and has also released a new album with his long-running supergroup-of-sorts Old Man Gloom (you can read our recent interview with him here, where he discusses his newer projects as well as the disbanding of Isis). Other members are working solo, and three of the band’s number have formed Palms with Deftones’ Chino Moreno, and are due to release a debut album in 2013 via Ipecac.
