Irreversible Entanglements Detail New LP, ‘Open The Gates’

The free jazz collective, who count Moor Mother among their ranks, recorded their latest record in a day

Irreversible Entanglements have a new album, Open The Gates, on the way.

The third studio album by the free jazz collective – made up of Camae Ayewa, AKA Moor Mother; saxophonist Keir Neuringer; trumpeter Aquiles Navarro; bassist Luke Stewart; and drummer Tcheser Holmes – is described as "a melancholic exploration of the post-colonial debris that surrounds us." The group recorded the album in a single day, and it sees them folding poetry, synths and various electronics into their sound. Check out the title track just below.

International Anthem / Don Giovanni will release Open The Gates on November 12, 2021.
