LISTEN: The Invisible – Rispah

Listen to the band's full new album Rispah below

The Invisible released their second full-length Rispah, the follow-up to 2009’s Mercury-nominated self-titled debut, this week. It’s arrived at a rather trying time for the band – singer/guitarist Dave Okumu was recently electrocuted onstage, and has been recovering since. The album’s a lovely listen though, and you can stream the whole thing via the embed below.

We interviewed the band last week, while Okumu was in the process of recovering, and they spoke frankly and in detail about the incident and the other difficult events that informed the album, in particular the death of Okumu’s mother. "There was a real desire to represent ourselves as a band, as we had a clearer sense of our identity than when we made the first record," he said. "There were things that we spoke about aesthetically and I distinctly remember us saying we wanted to make something emotional and beautiful. When my mum died we were quite deep into the process of making the record. We only had about three or four weeks of work to do and then this huge event happened which changed everything." You can read the interview in full here.
