The first set of names playing this year’s Intonal festival in Malmö, Sweden have been announced, with the likes of Burnt Friedman & Mohammad Reza Mortazavi and Kate NV & Sasha Kulak amongst those set to play.
Friedman and Reza Mortazavi’s performance will come off the back of the release of a joint EP last year titled Yek and their set will see them bringing together their deeply hypnotic takes on percussion. Kate NV will team up with director Sasha Kulak who created a short film around the former’s RVNG Intl.-released album для FOR, which came out last year.
Also confirmed are Pan Sonic’s Ilpo Väisänen playing live, DJ Marcelle, Aux 88, MCZO & Duke, Apartment House performing Julius Eastman’s work ‘Femenine’, Clara! y Maoupa, O Yuki Conjugate and Vanligt Folk. More names will also be announced in the coming months with the full programme set to be revealed in mid-March.
