International Teachers Of Pop On Tour

One of tQ's favourite bands have a short run of must-see live dates, which they've christened 'Consumerism On A Budget', to round off the year

International Teachers Of Pop are soon to embark on their ‘Consumerism On A Budget’ mini-tour, a short run of live shows to see off the year, beginning this week.

The band, who’s self-titled debut album was towards the upper reaches of our our best of 2019 chart, play the following shows:

DECEMBER

19, Leeds, Brudenell Social Club

20, Nottingham, The Bodega

21, Manchester, YES (The Pink Room)

Says band founder Adrian Flanagan: "As I look outside my window – where once lay a more caring, green(ish) and pleasant land – now lies a Hieronymus Bosch-esque nightmarish vision of never ending purgatory.

"We, the International Teachers Of Pop, aim to close this hideous decade with a little bit of light, a little bit of dancing and bequeath you with a free raffle ticket to win some rare and wondrous ITOP artefacts.

"These concerts will be the last hope of any genuine Joy before fun gets made illegal and we are all banished to the work houses and satanic mills -verily! Seize us now with both hands, our like may never return!"

The band recently shared new material in the shape of ‘I Stole Yer Plimsoles’, featuring Sleaford Mods’ Jason Williamson, which you can hear above.
