“I dreamt of having a romantic relationship with Cliff Richard,” says Saul Adamczewski, explaining their new video. “At first we wanted to use a lookalike but we couldn’t afford it, so we settled for any old man. And that’s what this is. Me having a romance with an old man on a hill.”
The new video from Insecure Men, directed by Niall Trask, is for album track Cliff Has Left The Building, from their recent debut
(and our favourite album of the year so far, fyi).
No one can deny the romantic power of a cuddle on a dusklit hillside, ideally with a smoochy saxophone playing in the near distance. And nor can we deny the unsettling power of a band who know how to mix pop genius with comedy and pathos to create a wholesome delicious what-the-fuck-is-happening-this-world-is-ridiculous-put-some-sax-on-it stew. Tuck in, you lovely people.
