Polish label and tQ favourites Instant Classic are currently gearing up to release the brand new album from Polish supergroup Innercity Ensemble, which comprises members of Instant Classic acts Stara Rzeka, Kapital and the Alameda collective.
Titled IV, it is the group’s fourth album as you might have guessed and premiering above is lead track ‘The Great Meadows of Kuyavia’, a seven-minute cut that sits as the album’s centrepiece.
"This time we decided to focus more on the post-production, including edits, overdubs and remixes," says Jakub Ziołek who handles guitars and vocals and also forms part of Stara Rzeka, Kapital and Alameda 3. "This was driven mainly by the outcome of our recording session as well as a simple will to push our music further than before."
The group also decided to switch up their previous process by adding vocals to three of the record’s tracks. "Innercity Ensemble was an instrumental band from the very beginning but I must admit that I have a constant urge of trying new things," Ziołek adds. What I enjoy most in music are nice songs."
Instant Classic will release IV on October 18. It’s Innercity Ensemble’s first album since 2016’s III.
