Hyperlocal aims to feature a diverse range of artists and bands with each edition with the event having been held across multiple locations since 2013.
tQ supported last year’s festival in the Argentinian capital, hosting the likes of Inga Copeland, Drogatictos and Sneaks, who will also appear at Hyperlocal London somewhat coinciding with the Merge Records reissue of her debut album Gymnastics this month.
Additionally included in the lineup are Los Cripis, a Buenos Aires trio who play simple and energetic garage-rock tunes. Sounding like ill-tuned Raincoats, with a substantial part of homespun inconsequential lyricism and Harry Pussy’s anarchism thrown into the mix, Los Cripis are a group that shouldn’t go unnoticed.
Also on the bill is Vindicatrix whose crooning-over-dystopian-dubstep tracks are capable of inducing mini-trips into outer (head)space. The same can be said of 3mpty Space, an Argentinian audio-visual project, using dandling guitar notes and field recordings. Other names listed for the event are industrial-synth duo Group A, black metal duo Whitby Bay, DJ Woman As A Phallic Symbol and many more. It all takes place on September 24.
