Horace Andy Details New LP With Adrian Sherwood, ‘Midnight Rocker’

It's the first time the two artists have come together on record

Legendary reggae musician Horace Andy has announced his new album Midnight Rocker, which will see him work with famed dub producer Adrian Sherwood for the first time.

As well as new versions of older tracks including ‘Mr Bassie’ and ‘Materialist’, and an alternative version of ‘Safe From Harm’ by Massive Attack, Midnight Rocker includes original material from the pair. The record is described as similar in tone to Sherwood’s collaborations with Lee "Scratch" Perry, Rainford and its dub version Heavy Rain. A dub version of Midnight Rocker is also planned for future release. Above, you can listen to the record’s lead single, a new version of Andy’s 1978 track ‘This Must Be Hell’.

"On-U Sound are very proud to present a truly wonderful album with one of the all time great singer-songwriters in the rich history of Jamaican music, Horace Andy," said Sherwood in a statement about the record. "This is a true gold star performance and I’m very proud of it."

On-U Sound will release Midnight Rocker on April 8, 2022.
