The Caught By The River blog’s new book is essential summer reading for all lovers of days spent idly beside tranquil waters. Indeed, the Quietus’ reverend father is currently enjoying the book as he fishes in central France. There’s something in there for everyone, whatever the cut of their cloth.

Now, this Saturday, July 11th, Caught By The River will be heading to the South Bank to present a series of talks and readings. Laura Barton and cloud fan Gavin Pretor–Pinney will be reading from Caught By The River – A Collection Of Words On Water, with former Cabaret Voltaire man Chris Watson accompanying them with some of his sound recordings.
If that’s not enough, the Independent‘s environment editor will be reading from his book Say Goodbye To The Cuckoo, Will Hodgkinson from The Ballad Of Britain. And finally, The Memory Band will be providing a live soundtrack to The Wicker Man.
