Hildur Gudnadóttir To Score New ‘Battlefield 2042’ Game

The Grammy-winning composer has worked with Sam Slater on the soundtrack, with the game due out in October

Hildur Gudnadóttir and Sam Slater, the multi-Grammy winning composers behind the scores for Joker and the Chernobyl TV series, have produced the soundtrack for the new Battlefield 2042 video game.

Set to go on sale in October, Battlefield 2042 is the latest instalment of EA and DICE’s long-running Battlefield video game series. Gudnadóttir and Slater’s score has been in the making for a year, and sees them combine original music with sound design.

Battlefield 2042 is Gudnadóttir and Slater’s first foray into scoring video games, with the two having formed a musical connection over their work on Joker and Chernobyl. (Gudnadóttir scored both, while Slater produced the score for both works.)
