Next year, Heavenly Recordings turn 25. To mark the anniversary, the London label are beginning next year with a four-day event in the glorious surroundings of Hebden Bridge in Yorkshire, featuring live music from their roster, DJ sets and film screenings. Over the course of Thursday 22 – Sunday 25 January 2015, Temples, The Wytches, Toy, The Voyeurs, Jimi Goodwin, Kid Wave, Mark Lanegan, Duke Garwood, Cherry Ghost, Eaves, Stealing Sheep and Hooton Tennis Club will be playing at the The Trades Club, alongside sets from Pete Wiggs and the Heavenly Jukebox DJs and screenings of How We Used To Live and Lawrence Of Belgravia, followed by a Q&A with directors Paul Kelly and Bob Stanley.
Reflecting on the first records Heavenly put out, and, in the process, doing a rather nice job of teasing what you can expect from those four days, the label say: "To those with little imagination, Heavenly’s release schedule – a confluence of futuristic Northern Soul, speedball punk, wild-eyed urban rock’n’roll and squat party country music – must have seemed too wilfully eclectic. To anyone who viewed music as an endless mixtape being compiled in real time or the soundtrack to the best house party ever crashed, it made perfect sense."
