Hamish Hawk Shares Cover of Pet Shop Boys’ ‘So Hard’

Songs by Madonna and Eurythmics are also reworked on Hawk's forthcoming LP

Hamish Hawk has unveiled a cover of ‘So Hard’, Pet Shop Boys’ wonderful song of mistrust and a relationship falling into nothingness.

On the cover, Hawk strips the original back to piano, voice and little flutters of guitar that rather wonderfully make the whole thing sound like a Suede song from the debut album or early B-sides. The track is lifted from his forthcoming Covers II album, which also features his take on Madonna’s ‘Burning Up’, Eurythmics’ ‘Sweet Dreams’ , and songs by Angel Olsen and Sheryl Crow.

Listen to Hawk’s cover of ‘So Hard’ below.

He will appear at this year’s Krankenhaus Festival on August 23.

So Recordings will release Covers II on September 5, 2025.
