Hamburg’s Golden Pudel Needs Help Reopening

The much-loved club was damaged in a fire earlier this year

Hamburg club Golden Pudel is asking for help to fund its rebuilding following a devastating fire earlier this year. A video above shows the extent of the damage that the fire had.

In an email sent out by Ralf Köster, the ciub’s boss and one of a number of resident DJs, he explains that the local Mara & Holger Cassens Foundation For The Support Of Art And Culture had provided some help to the venue in recent months, but that financial donations would be needed in the future in order to make it operational again.

The club received a payout from some of the insurance money, but Köster says that "complete restoration of the venue will cost at least as much as five brand-new and showroom-fresh SUVs". You can donate to support the club here.

Golden Pudel is a local Hamburg institution attracting a number of high-profile DJs every year to play within the small venue. The fire in February came after a dispute between the two owners of the building in which the club was housed. This was resolved soon after the fire with the club now able to continue in its previous form following the building’s restoration.
