The Quietus is pleased to announce that the brilliant Gyratory System are to release their second long-playing record New Harmony this spring. The LP, which is coming out on Angular Records, will be out on Record Store Day, with plans for a special event to celebrate. Gyratory System’s Dr Blick will be taking time out from his busy schedule assessing democratic accountability in Westminster to release two singles ‘The Knowledge’ and ‘New Harmony’ before the release. You can download their track ‘Pamplona’ below, and take note that they’re playing with Anika and Joseph Coward at our Lexington gig next Wednesday, tickets here. For those who need some background knowledge, Gyratory System’s last album The Sound-Board Breathes was one of our favourites of 2009; the band features Dr Blick’s dad Robin (a septuagenarian who, when offered MDMA when the band played Fabric, assumed it was a rare pedal); and the brilliant New Harmony sounds like Caribou charming bees at a Medieval fayre.
