London-based duo Gum Takes Tooth have released ‘Borrowed Lies’, the second track to be taken from their forthcoming third album Arrow. You can watch the video above.
The group explain that the track "concerns the small change victories and comforts our culture portions out to us to placate us and prevent action towards change – the lie of self-empowerment and paranoia is the ‘weapon offered as a gift’. And it ends with a call to arms to look inward to find the weapon to overcome this."
With a video riddled with strobe lighting, Jussi Brightmore and Tom Fug combine rip-roaring psych-rock with shredding acid-house to create a ferocious polyrhythmic, overdriven and dynamic sound. The single’s B-side is an Afrofuzz cosmic funk rework of the single by Italian collective Lay Llamas.
