Next Tuesday, July 8, the Quietus and The Mucky Pup in Islington will be hosting an exclusive playback of Grumbling Fur’s Preternaturals, which the Quietus Phonographic Corporation will be releasing next month. As well as hearing the album, there’ll be DJ sets from GF and the Quietus, playing our patented brand of "cosmic rock, space disco, metal for tattooed ladies and saucy gothic stompers".
Preternaturals is the third Grumbling Fur full-length, following 2013’s excellent Glynnaestra, which we named as our album of the year. It’s only the second release by tQPC, the first being East India Youth’s Hostel EP from last April. The album features a collaboration with Tim Burgess and artwork by Turner Prize-nominated artist Mark Titchner, and will be released on vinyl, CD and digital on August 11. GF will be playing a full live set tomorrow, July 3, at the Total Refreshment Centre in Dalston, with support from Mark Dicker (read our interview with him here). Also hosted by the Quietus, tickets for the show are available here for a mere £5. On August 12, the day after the album is released, the duo are performing live at Corsica Studios with support from Burgess; tickets for that date are available here.
In the meantime, have a listen to lead single ‘All The Rays’ above and go to the Facebook event for full details of the Mucky Pup playback.
