Brighton’s The Great Escape returns to the seaside town for its tenth edition in May and the first names, 150 in all, for this year’s edition of the showcase event have been announced. With the line-up led by Alabama Shakes, who will play the festival’s biggest venue, Brighton Dome, and Django Django, The Great Escape’s three days will also play host, as ever, to a raft of new talent worth paying attention to. Line-up highlights, in particular, playing across TGE’S 30+ venues, come in the form of the Thurston Moore Band, Dutch Uncles, Girl Band, Real Lies and Zun Zun Egui.
Of this year’s event, festival director Kat Morris said: "The Great Escape is extremely proud to champion emerging talent and creativity across the entire music industry. For the past decade, TGE has given upcoming artists the opportunity to perform for 18,000 passionate fans each year who are all hugely supportive of new music. To mark this tenth anniversary, we are excited to be bringing back some very special guests who have all performed iconic and memorable shows in previous years to play alongside 400 of 2015’s hottest emerging artists from across the world."
