London electro producer Gold Panda is set to release his second album, Half Of Where You Live (artwork above), on June 10 via his NOTOWN label and Ghostly International, and he’s given us a taster of what to expect with album cut ‘Brazil’ – have a listen below [via Pitchfork]:
The first cut from the LP opens up sounding similar to the material on his debut, 2011’s Lucky Shiner, with hazy waves of synth shifting underneath scattering beats, before it moves into an ace coda, a ringing gauze of metallic percussion and harp. Gold Panda is describing the record as a "city album", and it follows up on his Trust EP from earlier in the year.
You’ll be able to catch him at The Electric in Brixton on June 12 ahead of sets at Glastonbury on June 26, London’s Lovebox on July 19 and Longitude in Dublin on July 20.
