From July 1-16, Salford’s finest sonic manglers, Gnod, will be taking up a residency at the city’s Islington Mill, their work space since 2006.
First up is Hamburg artist and musician Ken Wiatrek from July 1-9, followed by Sanna Charles, S&M and Horse Latitudes alongside an installation by sound artist Mark Wagner on July 8-9, followed by a supper club with Jentle Ben and Olmos – "come see her perform and taste how the gnetwork eat", say they – on July 12. After an open session where people can watch the band rehearse on July 14, the following day promises to be an audio-visual treat, with Callum Higgins creating "a fully immersive, light reactive environment, [where] the very presence and behaviour of the audience in the room will manipulate and shape the unique experience they have". July 16 rounds proceedings up with a Boiler Room performance streamed from the Mill, with support from Yes Blythe and Kogumaza.
