Geoff Barrow & Ben Salisbury Announce Ex Machina OST

Listen to an edit of Hacking / Cutting from the soundtrack, due for release on Invada Records in April, below

Invada Records have just announced that they’ll be releasing Geoff Barrow and Ben Salisbury’s soundtrack to Ex Machina on April 10. To mark the news, they’ve given us a play of the album’s ‘Hacking / Cutting’, along with an exclusive look at the release’s artwork (above) – give it a listen below:

The pair have previously worked together as Drokk, releasing Music Inspired By Mega-City One, their unused score for the film Dredd, in 2012, and reconvening last year for a live improvisation at the Dark Outside project in Scotland. Take a look at a film about the latter below and read Salisbury telling us about it here. The film, which is the directorial debut of Alex Garland, the author and screenwriter behind The Beach, 28 Days Later and Sunshine among many others, is out now. Says Salisbury of the album: "[W]e wanted to slightly get away from the type of soundtrack album that has a huge tracklist with lots of short cues. Instead, we’ve tried to put together an album of fuller-length tracks, by segueing some of our cues and creating a structure and shape that mirrors the film in some way."
